Position Summary:
The primary function of the Winery Manager is to facilitate day-to-day operations of Sweet Oaks Winery. Overall responsibilities include hiring, training and managing staff, managing all inventory and operational expenses, ensuring maximum sales and profitability, and establishing and maintaining an incredible guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Restaurant Experience: 5 years (required)
- Management Experience: 1-2 years experience (preferred)
- High School or equivalent (Preferred)
- Must be 21+

Responsibilities:
- Supervise winery staff
- Create staff work schedule and assign duties and responsibilities for employees
- Oversee and ensure safe employee work conditions at all times
- Become proficient in our IT and POS systems
- Monitor develop and implement day to day policies and procedures
- Supervise and participate in dining experience and cleaning activities
- Communicate Winery needs and opportunities for improvement with the management team
- Greet and seat guests, and present menus and beverage lists
- Ensure all food service and safety procedures are strictly adhered to
- Present bills and accept payments
- Resolve any customer issues
- Work closely with management to set and meet all sales goals
- Audit inventory levels to ensure product availability, and order products as necessary
- Report and review food and labor costs, identify loss and other challenges
- Purchase or requisition supplies and equipment needed
- Assist with tasting room closing duties and managing tasting room employees, when applicable
- Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards
- Perform various financial activities, such as cash handling, deposit preparation, and payroll
- Participate in management meetings for all reporting, menu planning, service arrangements and protocols, and other assorted management details
Qualifications:
- Professional demeanor with exceptional guest service qualifications
- Natural leader, trainer and mentor with extensive employee training and development experience within the industry
- Ability to motivate staff in order to achieve ultimate results and goals of the winery
- Experience in managing employees and possess the skills needed to develop employees and the overall experience provided by the employees to the guests
- Familiar with departmental, operational budget development, forecasting and implementation. Experience in inventory and supplies cost management
- Strategic & communication skills to assist the management team to reach the overall company goals
- Computer proficiency – knowledge in Outlook, Excel, Word, POS and Inventory Control Systems
