Summary/Objective

This is a full-time position for the Sweet Oaks Winery and Ranch located in Temecula, CA. The ranch hand will tend to the overall maintenance and upkeep of the farm animals as well as the promotion of the property and product offerings.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Ability to perform physical labor, 95% outdoor work
Ability to lift up to 75lbs
Operating and maintenance of machinery
Cleaning stalls and storage areas
Taking care of various farm animals (horses, goats, and chickens)
Guide visitors through property tours
Promote and sell winery product offerings
Deliver wine orders to guests staying on the property

Competencies

Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekend shifts
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
Must be able to understand and follow instructions
Always observe proper safety precautions
Knowledge of winery product offerings
Establishment of effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public
Flexibility to handle multiple priorities, often in high stress situations and rapidly changing business conditions

Required Education and Experience

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screening

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor and outdoor environment where temperatures and weather conditions can vary. Frequently required to use farm equipment and tools. May be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and special events.
